Day One: Arrival. Wednesday, June 12, 2024

Day Two: Journey to the Workshop Venue. Thursday, June 13, 2024

- Breakfast in Nairobi.

- Visit to the Giraffe Center and Karen Museum.

- Light lunch at the Karen Museum.

- Travel to the enchanting workshop venue near Naivasha Lake, a natural wonderland where you could encounter zebras, giraffes, hippos, and more.

- Get to know your fellow poets and the program in an introductory session.

- Engage in a creative writing session amid the stunning surroundings.

- Delight in poetry sharing around the camp fire with our open mic session.


Day Three: Exploring Poetry, Performance, and Emotions and the Stage. Friday, June 14, 2024

- Rise early for an automated poetry writing session.

- Dive into a theoretical session on the art of spoken word, encompassing voice use, improvisation, structure, and engaging your audience.

- Competence building for live presentation and writing.

- Collaborate with fellow poets on writing and performance prompts.

- Special session on deep Point of View (POV) to evoke emotions without overwhelming yourself.

Day Four: Sensory Poetry Techniques. Saturday, June 15, 2024

- Greet the sunrise with a poetic writing prompt.

- Explore sound, imagery, and delivery as integral components of poetry.

- Learn to create oral visual scores and sound poetry.

- Discover the power of sound effects using your body.

- Participate in interactive performances and receive feedback.

- Prepare for the upcoming performance.

- Share after dinner during an evening of poetry written during the day with feedback sessions.


Day Five: Final Day at the Workshop & Farewell

- Begin the day with packing and checkout.

- Group pictures, last writing prompts.

- Return to the Nairobi for evaluation and feedback sessions.

- Share experiences in a cozy afternoon setting.

- Rehearse for the final performance.

- Enjoy a quick dinner before transferring to the airport for your return home.


This is an intense workshop where we start before breakfast till late at night.
